About Project

Nature Interactive Learning

...
Introduction

In this age, all individuals are expected to be curious, inquisitive, and productive. Therefore, it is essential for individuals to participate in educational processes that encourage them to ask questions, research, create, and invent, and that reveal their talents and interests in these areas.

Educational Environments

Educational environments should facilitate innovative learning methods based primarily on the development of inquiry and problem-solving skills. The learning environment should be collaborative and offer students the opportunity to learn within real-world contexts through project- and application-focused activities. Furthermore, learning can be carried out at any time and place, allowing students to maximize their potential, and educational plans can be developed accordingly.

Therefore, children can be provided with opportunities for learning in nature, direct observation of nature, the development of recording skills, and the opportunity to utilize acquired knowledge for higher-level learning through the technological resources available at school. To ensure this, our teachers must be well-equipped and able to keep pace with the times in every field.

Integration with Nature, Art, Recycling, and Biomimicry

Integrating nature, art, recycling, and biomimicry activities with nature-focused design activities is crucial for the project, as the project will conclude with the e-book “Nature-focused Design Skill Activities for Early Childhood Education.” Each partner will share their expertise in a topic, providing a rich learning opportunity and enabling participants to gain knowledge and experience.

Project Goals
  • To introduce our teachers and students to nature-focused activities that will foster innovative and design-focused thinking.
  • To design nature-focused activities that encourage research, production, and invention.
  • To draw attention to the importance and place of nature, recycling, art, and technology in design-focused thinking and their impact on education.
  • To contribute to the field by preparing an e-book titled “Nature-Focused Design Skill Activities” for early childhood education.
Expected Results
  • Integrating various nature- and design-focused activities preferred by preschoolers into our lessons.
  • Contributing to the field by preparing an e-book titled “Nature-Focused Design Skill Activities” for early childhood education.
  • Increasing by 20% the rate at which we include nature-focused design skills activities in our lessons.
  • Gathering with colleagues from different countries to observe and learn about nature-focused design skills activities implemented in preschool at the EU level.
Project Activities

Our planned activities include training to develop our professional skills in preschool nature-focused design skills; on-the-job observations; workshops with mixed groups of teachers from different cultures; coordination meetings; e-book creation and implementation; and activities on technology, art, recycling, biomimicry, and nature-focused design.
